Before he became a critic he was a novelist. Steve and I got the opportunity to interview The Critical Drinker for an episode of WriterDojo. We had a great time. That episode is now streaming everywhere you get your podcasts.

So glad to see you guys back! Just downloaded the episode to listen. What a great guest to get. I hope things have settled down for Steve at work.
Larry, if my cat insists on sleeping in top of my nightstand gun, is he being protective or do we have an issue?
I really enjoyed this episode. It seemed a lot less intensive on the nuts and bolts, but was interesting to hear a voice I know quite well talk about his writing world rather than movies. You guys should definitely bring him back to talk about more topics.
I was having the damnedest time finding books for my son (12 years) to get into. He goes to a Catholic school and so much of what they read is heavy with a social message. He doesn’t even like reading those books. He doesn’t get much screen time so I’m regularly giving him books that, though he’ll read, they don’t capture his attention. Then I heard about Monster Hunter International. I got it alittle over a week ago and he actually choses to read this book over his screen time.
He heard there were others in the book series and even asked the library at the school if they can get some. The librarian said she’d “look into it”.
I’m going to read the book next.
The works of Rafael Sabatini might appeal to him as well.
That was well done! But I would expect nothing less from y’all! Thanks!
This interview was a ton of fun. Especially since it showed the writer side of The Critical Drinker, which isn’t often seen during Open Bar and EFAP podcasts.
