Only a Few Days Left to Nominate for the Dragon Awards

This is it. There are only a couple of days left to nominate for the Dragon Awards. The nomination period closes on the 25th.

Since this is the first year that they’ve done this they want as many fans as possible to get involved. It doesn’t cost anything, and is open to everyone.

For authors, artists, and creators, DragonCon wants you to tell your fans. They want you to spread the word and get out the vote. This isn’t some namby-pamby gentleman’s agreement, wink and nod, cliquish politicking behind closed doors fan award. This is a celebration of nerdery. If you’re proud of your stuff, and you’ve got fans, let them know.

I’m voting for Son of the Black Sword for best fantasy, because I’m obviously biased. 🙂

There are a ton of great categories, and this is a great chance to let your voice be heard. This is the first year, but DragonCon is a gigantic, epic convention. So those numbers are going to grow in the future. Get in on the ground floor.

EDIT: This is a message from the administrators if you are having any trouble registering: Hey folks, if you are having issues or you haven’t received your confirmation email from us, please email us at (dcwards AT  We’ll either get the registration process restarted for you or deal with it in the database manually. Thanks – Dave Cody, Dragon Con

  1. Thanks for the email link. I registered back in April but haven’t gotten anything about nominating and haven’t been able to reach a nomination page. I think I even submitted a help ticket through their website recently and heard nothing. I hope they can help me soon so I can nominate. I’m excited about these awards, but if a lot of other people are unable to participate as I’ve been due to technical issues, I’m a little worried that this isn’t a good start to these awards.

Edit: Okay, my email came back undeliverable, so that email address he gave in his note is apparently not good. 🙁

    1. Okay, I think I got it to work now, at the last minute. I’m super excited to see who the top nominees end up being.

(And how sad is it that I couldn’t nominate any TV shows because I just don’t watch them anymore? Okay, that’s probably actually a good thing, but it feels really weird since I was pretty much obsessed with TV as a kid.)

  2. Profuse apologies for the off-topic comment, but the link to the title and the link in the pic to Sarah Hoyt’s Though Fire on the right sidebar are typoed?

      1. Haha, I opened it and voted as soon as I got the email. Couldn’t vote in some categories, though, as I hadn’t read any of the works. Some of my favorites were on the ballot though. Irritatingly, it once again forced me to choose between Aeronaut’s Windlass and Son of the Black Sword.
