Book Bomb Postponed!

I was at Salt Lake City ComicCon all weekend (report pending, but short version,it was HUGE).

I saw Julie Frost, author of Monday’s Book Bomb book, and she pointed out to me that she was super grateful BUT only the eBook is out now. The print books won’t be ready to ship until later in October. The only print books they’d run so far had been a special limited edition run rushed for SLCCC (and all sold out there).

So I’m going to postpone Monday’s Book Bomb until later in October. Sorry about that.

Next BOOK BOMB, Monday the 28th, Pack Dynamics by Julie Frost

I’m happy to announce that the next Monster Hunter Nation Book Bomb will be on Monday the 28th.

I’ve known Julie Frost for years. She’s a great author, but she’s best known for her short fiction. This is her first novel.

For those of you unfamiliar with Book Bombs, I pick a novel from a good author who needs a publicity boost. Then we try to get as many people as possible to buy their book on Amazon on the same day. Because the sales ratings change hourly, this causes the book to go up in the rankings. The higher it gets and the more lists it shows up on, the more new people see it, and the more exposure the author gets.

We’ve had some really good results with these in the past. I get a ton of requests for BBs, but I can only do them so often, and I have to read the book first to make sure it is something the regulars here will like. I think you guys will like Julie. She’s awesome.

So mark your calendars. Monday. Werewolves!

Series II Challenge Coins (Update #2)

Hi all-
Jack Wylder here once again with your Series II Challenge Coin update #2.
Finally got word from the mint: the estimated ship date on the entire order is on or about 10/16. This means that with any luck we should be able to get all the orders fulfilled relatively shortly thereafter. I will be out of town for just under a week on a work trip so that will delay things slightly but hopefully not all that much- I will be rallying the troops and dedicating my weekends to getting these to you just as quickly as I can.

A few FAQs:

  • Q: How can I order these awesome CorreiaTech coins for myself?
A: Without a time machine to take you back to the end of last month, you’ll have to wait for the ’round up’ coins to go on sale once all orders have been filled. Sorry- we DID do our best to make sure everyone knew when we were taking orders!

  • Q: I placed my order weeks ago! Why haven’t I gotten my coins yet??
A: As we stated before- Phase One was Design, Phase Two was taking orders, Phase Three is manufacture (in progress now), and Phase Four is shipping. We can’t jump over Phase Three. We will definitely keep you posted right here on any updates as we have news to share. We want you to have these coins- I mean, we really really want you to have them and be done with this (so we can GET PAID) 😉

  • Q: I just ordered a patch and it cost $15 for shipping! What the heck is Wendell doing to me here??
A: Ok, that’s on me. I’m going to readjust the shipping back down for all new orders BUT I am not going to be able to go through and just ship the orders that don’t have coins. I’ve made a note on the swag page that all orders are going to ship in the order they came in (so if you need patches just hold off for now.) If you absolutely HAVE to have the patches ASAP for something, drop me an email at CorreiaTech1911@gmail dot com and we’ll work something out.

  • Q: Where can I get one of the original PUFF coins?
A: The only way to get one of the original PUFF exemption coins is to somehow convince someone to give theirs up. (Seriously, the number of times I’ve been asked this is just staggering. I would love to have a box of them unearthed in the vast CorreiaTech swag warehouse but I just don’t see it happening, folks. Sorry.)

  • I will update this just as soon as there’s anything new to say about it. Thank you all again! – Jack

Salt Lake City ComicCon is this weekend.

I got back from Portland late last night. I’ve got Salt Lake City ComicCon this weekend. Considering the week before Portland I was at DragonCon, and right before that I was in NYC, I’m about traveled out. Oh… yeah, I’ve still got 3 weeks of book tour starting at the end of October. Never mind. 🙂

Anyways, I’ll be on several panels, and when I’m not on those, I’ll be signing at the Wordfire Press super booth. Other authors in the booth include Jim Butcher, Terry Brooks, Bob Salvatore, Kevin J. Anderson, and a whole bunch of others.

Thursday 3:00 Outlining vs. Discovery Writing

    Friday 1:00 Writing Action

Friday 3:00 Fantasy and Heavy Metal (this one is Peter Orulians’ idea, and has me and Butcher on it. I’m the only one without a glorious mane of rock and roll hair)

Friday 8:00 Choose your Own Apocalypse

Saturday 1:00 Live Plotting, Build a Story

    Saturday 3:00 Creating Good Characters

    Saturday 4:00 Urban Fantasy

If you want to see the huge master list of the hundreds of panels, you can go here. http://saltlakecomiccon.com/2015-panel-schedule/ and you can even browse by guest.  Salt Lake ComicCon has gotten HUGE.
