Next BOOK BOMB, March 7th, Witchy Eye by Dave Butler

Mark your calendars, the next Monster Hunter Nation Book Bomb is on March 7th for Dave Butler’s Witchy Eye.

This Book Bomb is a little different because we will be Bombing it on release day, rather than a book which has been out for a while. So I’m hoping we can get a pretty good spike for Dave.

I read the rough draft and provided a blurb. This book is really good. It is one of the more interesting fantasy novels I’ve read in a long time. I’ll talk more about it on the BB day post, but it is an epic fantasy set in the early 1800s North America. There are a few other series that have tried a similar setting, but I think this one really nails it. I liked it a lot.

Help Name My Short Fiction Collection

I need to come up with a name for my short fiction collection (which has now been divided into two volumes). I’ve got a few ideas, but nothing that I’m really in love with. Or more importantly, that Toni and the marketing staff are in love with. The problem with naming short fiction collections is you need something that works for a whole bunch of stories from different genres, from different worlds, and different themes. And most importantly it has to sound cool.

So you guys are smart, and you are also the target audience, so if you’ve got suggestions please post them in the comments here. If Toni picks one of them as the title we will say that we got it from you on the Thank You page, and then I’ll send you some autographed copies. This is a really informal contest, so the rules are we’ll pick what we like, and I reserve the right to say no thanks, those all suck, and then use something else (but hopefully that won’t be the case because you guys are friggin’ brilliant).

Here is the table of contents for the first one:

Tanya: Princess of the Elves

Dead Waits Dreaming

Sweothi City

The Bridge

Detroit Christmas

Murder on the Orient Elite

Father’s Day

Destiny of a Bullet

Bubba Shackleford’s Professional Monster Killers

The Diary of Hannah Stone

The Losing Side

The Great Sea Beast

Force Multiplier

The Adventures of Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent

So go ahead and post your suggestions in the comments here. I’m sure other certain websites will also have helpful suggestions befitting me, like Not A Real Writer: Hatemonger Jerkface Bundles Some Trash.  Which come to think of it, is actually kind of a cool title.  😀

Big Audible Sale on 1st Books in a Series

If you are an Audible.com member, they are having a great sale right now for first books in a series. They are only $4.95, this week only.

MHI, Hard Magic, Dead Six, Into the Storm, Son of the Black Sword, and Grunge are all part of the sale. And it’s not just me, they’ve got hundreds of others from other authors on sale too. So this is a great chance to stock up on a bunch of audiobooks for cheap.

Putting Together a Collection of My Short Fiction

Baen is going to release a collection of my short fiction. The Correia Collection (don’t worry, that’s not going to be the real title) is going to include a bunch of the short stories I’ve written over the years and some new stuff. I’ve published thirty something short stories, and a lot of those were published in anthologies that many of my regular readers didn’t ever see.

Since I sent Monster Hunter Siege off to Reader Force Alpha yesterday, my current project is to put together which short stories I want to include. I’ve got some awesome ones that I’m really proud of.  I’ve got a few that are super bad ass, and it kills me that most of you haven’t had a chance to read them.

I started putting together the list today, but I’ve written way too many to fit them all into one book.

So throwing this out there to the fans here (and I’ll do the same thing on Facebook) which of my stories would you really like to see reprinted in the collection?
