Let’s think this through logically for a second, even though logic never causes the cranks to slow their roll.

If this was all my clever Skeletor/Cobra Commander level plan, why wouldn’t I have forced them to attack me the week before release week instead of the week after, when it would have made the most difference? That’s very sloppy for a chess master such as myself.

Oh wait. I had no control over when MarsCon announced me as a guest. Whoops. Next month. Close enough!

And if I can trick the perpetually offended into throwing a tantrum on demand, wow, that seems like it would say a lot more about them than me! But anyways…

That was so clever of me to provoke them into screeching outrage within a month of a new release with an announcement I had no control over about me agreeing to be a guest at an event a year from now.

I should probably pre-schedule their outrage for my next book releases in April and October more carefully.

Oh yeah, if you think about it, since unlike most of my detractors I actually produce books rather than just whine about them on the internet, so I’ve usually got some product coming out three to five times a year to promote. So if social justice mob outrage within a month means free promotion… there is literally no time where they can scream about me where I don’t benefit.

Holy shit. I am brilliant.

But wait. There is one way these people can test this theory. They could just LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE. 😀

Yep. That’s the flaw in my super devious plan. I can’t profit off their endless screaming about me, if they never scream at me again.

They should totally test that out. For like, forever.

MarsCon did not cave to the cancel mob.

So let’s sell this event out and then have a great time.

That right there is a perfect demonstration of just how full of crap cancel mobs really are. They are very loud, but they always turn out to be few in number. They get their power from convincing institutions that they are bigger than they are through lots of screeching on the internet. Regular people who just want to have fun and live their lives drastically outnumber the perpetually outraged. That’s the lesson.
