Shout outs!

I don’t know where my camera is, but when I find it, I’ve got to take some pictures for you.

A while back I got an e-mail from somebody asking if I was ever going to make an MHI logo Zippo like I mentioned Earl Harbinger using, and if not, would I mind if they made one for themselves. I said the same thing I always say about the logo, if it is just for your personal use and not to make money, go, use it, and have fun. I just like to get pictures so I can post them on the blog.

But then I got a package yesterday. In it was an MHI engraved logo Zippo!

It is awesome. Turns out it was cheaper to make a few than just one, so they sent one to me.  I love it. It is so cool I might have to go take up smoking or something! (just kidding, Bishop) :p

So thanks Laura, Phillip, and Jake of the St. Louis MHI team. It is much appreciated.

But while talking about pictures, check out this one from Iraq on a Blackhawk door gunner.  Boo Yah! That is tough.

Thanks, Monster Hunter Mesopotamia, A Co. 2-1 GSAB The Wraiths, badasses that rain fire from the sky.

Books & Patches update

I’m sorry, but I suck at getting to the post office, and I’ve been utterly swamped all month. I finally bagged up all the patch and autographed MHI orders for the last month today, only to find out that I was short 7 copies of MHI. I thought I had another box of them, but it was empty. So I ran over to my local B&N, only to find that they were also sold out.

So there are 5 of your waiting for copies of MHI that won’t be going out today. I’ve got more coming. Should be here next week. Everybody else’s order up until yesterday is in the mail today.

I really need an administrative assistant. Maybe I can put one of my kids to work.

MHV #4 bestselling fantasy novel in the country last week

I just got the Nielsen Bookscan numbers for the week ending October 3rd.  Monster Hunter Vendetta was #4 in fantasy, nationwide.  Bookscan works likes the Nielsen TV ratings with a whole bunch of stores, and all of the big chains (except Walmart) reporting numbers weekly.

Holy. Friggin’. Crap.

Uh… Yeah.  Ahem.  Moving on then, lots of good stuff going on here. I’ve been super swamped, so haven’t been posting much blog fodder that hasn’t related directly to the MHV release. Surprisingly, a book release consumes a giant chunk of your time.  There are exciting things afoot.
