It hasn’t been 48 hours yet and we are 65% of the way funded to our initial goal. We are just shy of $30,000 right now. $45,000 is our break even launch point. As good as we’ve done, I’m not worried at all about hitting the $45K. This project will fund, but what I really want to do is overfund it, so we can start adding more cool stuff for all the backers.

The faster we fund each level, the more extra stuff we can put out, the more valuable your initial pledges become.

For those of you not familiar with Kickstarter, Stretch Goals are when you’ve reached your original funding goal, and the project is a go, but you want to make it blow up huge, you offer stretch goals. So once we hit the 45K, then we’ll put up the next goal along with what comes with it. So then everyone on a certain tier and higher gets that stuff added to their original order for no additional cost.  Or, in a couple of cases of things we want to offer, there will be a small increased cost for something, but then you get something totally awesome for it.

And because I live my life based upon a philosophy of competition, malice, and spite, I want this project to go big. 🙂

So in order to supply you guys with even more fluffy MHI goodness, please tell your friends: MyTweetFace, your blog, your mom’s blog, your cat’s blog, overpass graffitti (Monster Hunter Nation does not condone criminal acts especially if you get caught being a dumbass, unless you end up on the news and get the Kickstarter more publicity, because hey, that is kind of cool… but seriously, no crime), web forums where gun nuts, monster nuts, or gamers congregate… Or maybe even web forums for cigar afficianados, classic muscle cars, and knitting, hell if I know, I don’t know what you people do on the internets.

I’ve done really well in audio books because I’ve been blessed with some amazing narrators. Oliver Wyman does the Monster Hunter series and the dude is just a pro. He brings every single character to life. I’ve not even gotten the chance to listen to MHL yet, but it sounds like he hit another one out of the park.

There is only one 1 star review, and it is from a Canadian that says my books are too Pro-America… Uh… Hookay then.

And the fun thing, the only book with more reviews than mine is the Navy SEAL book. And you can’t really compete with one of the guys that shot Osama in the face. Good work.

As soon as we hit the 45K goal (which it looks like we should be doing much faster than I expected), then we will start adding stretch goals. Those will be additional cool perks for those that have already pledged and also new additional things that you can adjust your pledge it you want to pick up. We’ve got some really cool things planned.

I’m super excited. Here is the Kickstarter link for the Monster Hunter International Employee Handbook and Roleplaying Game.

Once we hit that goal, then we can start putting up stretch goals where we add more new cool stuff for you guys. We have got some great ideas, and the more we raise, the cooler we can make this thing.

The Employee Handbook is going to be a big, fat, fully illustrated, full color, hard cover coffee table book of the MHI universe, plus a full set of rules and stats so you can play the MHI RPG.  I’m teamed up with Hero Games for this, and they’ve been awesome to work with. Steve Long is writing the crunch and I am writing the fluff.  There will be MHI history, PUFF tables, helpful hints and tricks from MHI staff, write ups about various monsters, and much much more. Plus lots of pictures. 🙂

After catching the highlights of Univision doing more to expose Fast and Furious in a single hour than NBC did in two years, I put out a couple of Tweets:

It is sad that our own media is so pathetic that Univision has to expose more F&F scandals for us. Just doing the jobs Americans won’t do.

To all of my moderate/undecided friends, one advantage of electing a republican is at least the press will do their job and report scandals.
