http://application.dragoncon.net/dc_fan_awards_nominations.php
The Dragon Award nominations are open. They’re free to participate in and open to anybody. Now is your chance to nominate your favorite books.
I’ve won a few times, so I always tell my fans to nominate someone else to share the love. However, on collaborations, that’s not fair to my coauthors, so if you want to nominate Gun Runner by me and John Brown for sci-fi, that’s great.
But in Fantasy/Paranormal, I have two words for you Jim Motherfucking Butcher. If Peace Talks doesn’t get nominated, that’s just wrong.
I love how your “two words” adds an extra word just for flavor!
Peace Talks was half of a pretty good book.
As opposed to the Tor-gos….
I was in a discussion at a WC; someone deep in WSFS was railing about the “unfairness” of US elections towards the Usual Suspects. Finally, I had this exchange with her:
Me: “In order to vote on the Hugos, one needs a Supporting Membership — around $75, right?”
Her: “Yes.”
Me: “And the nominees are all written in English?”
Her: “Yes.”
Me: “So, WSFS supports Poll Taxes and Literacy Tests?”
THE SILENCE WAS *DEAFENING*…. >:)
CF, that is very evil. I salute you, sir! ~:D

Well played, sir! ????????????
Sent! For some reason I couldn’t find the Rothfuss/Martin collaboration in fantasy.
You’ll have to wait another decade for it. Sorry.
I think Battleground is better
Poor Jim, he’s going to have two books, from the same series, nominated for the same category 🙂
Butcher has become a dark, uninspiring and nihilistic slog lately with a lot of angst and non-heroic behavior(still a great craftsman though). Don´t get why so many of yesterdays bright stars have gotten so dour lately but I guess it´s ordered from above since most of the authors from the big Publishers have become emo´s.
Is really some light, hope and faith too much these days?
Did you see this, by chance? Sounds like it might be just what you need…

(That’s a link for Fantastic Hope- a collection of short stories from different authors including Larry. From the description: )
In this anthology, seventeen authors have woven together brand-new stories that speak to the darkness and despair that life brings while reminding us that good deeds, humor, love, sacrifice, dedication, and following our joy can ignite a light that burns so bright the darkness cannot last.
Laurell K. Hamilton and William McCaskey are joined by Kevin J. Anderson, Griffin Barber, Patricia Briggs, Larry Correia, Kacey Ezell, Monalisa Foster, Robert E. Hampson, John G. Hartness, Jonathan Maberry, L. E. Modesitt, Jr., Jessica Schlenker, Sharon Shinn, M. C. Sumner, Patrick M. Tracy, and Michael Z. Williamson in this collection.
