  1. Looks like you are not spending enough time on your trip. This itinerary looks like a “If its Friday we’re in Paris” speed-trip.

Would have liked to host you with some coordination, Ramstein is just a little bit more than a hundred klicks south from “home” even if I do not spend much time there.

    1. I’m a busy dude. 2 1/2 weeks in Europe is about all I can justify before I have to get back to work. 🙂

  2. Larry

With the bombings in Brussels, will you still go to Europe or have publishers postponed the events?

  3. Awesome! Your Prague signings are about 45 minutes from my house. Those two locations are pretty close to each other, are you going to be taking a brief sightseeing walk between them?

  4. Is the Rammstein gig only for members of the USAF?
Last time I was at Rammstein AFB was before 9/11 and access got kinda restricted afterwards I heard.

    1. Tierlieb asks the right question! Is Ramstein open to the general public?

Is there any chance of you visiting other places in Germany, also?

      1. I don’t actually know what base access is like for locals, or how to find out. They just set this up for me. You could probably call the store and ask. I wish I knew.

        1. To get access to Ramstein, you’ll have to know someone who is able to sign folks onto the base and they’ll only be able to sign up to four people. I plan on being there, if I can get my lunch break at the same time.

  5. Yay! Okay, it’s unlikely I’ll be in any signing queues, but I hope that you have fun on your travels. I hope you have fun this side of the pond.

    1. Good luck, Larry! I’m genuinely curious to hear how this turns out. Hopefully the obnoxious fans (which sadly, the UK seems to have a high percentage of) will stay away.

  6. I’m excited that you will be in France. If it is indeed Nantes, then I hope to be there. On the tourism side, consider the Cognac region if your schedule allows. It’s a 2.5 hour drive south of Nantes, beautiful area, tranquil, makes for great tourism. My day job is Single Estate Cognac, been living here for seven years now (expat) and would be very happy to show you around.

  7. Prepare for what should be an amazing reception at Ramstein. Expect to hear a lot of pig jokes and cries of Wahoon!

  8. Great! Nantes is only 3 hrs away.
If you are heading further south and thinking of taking in the Cognac region and the wine area of Bordeaux, we would be happy to put you up for the night in one of our cottages at Our neighbour is from Knoxville and a massive fan … He also has a cognac distillery!

  9. Will be making the drive up to Nantes, looking forward to it. If you have interest, come on down to the Cognac region before/after and we can give you a tour, visit our distillery. Now I just gotta figure out how to translate HOOON into French. Safe travels.

  10. I’d give you travel tips but just about everything “modern” I saw in UK in the 80’s is pretty much gone now.

  11. Deb’s done a couple of tours over there and sez to visit a schnillimbess (sp?) fast food place on most street corners. Also, they pour alcohol on ice cream. And ask for the “spaghetti ice cream”…

  12. Grrmble, why, o why no signing at Ramstein AFB during the week-end!!!!! 🙂 Also, wondering whether civilians are allowed to enter the KMCC Mall at all ?

    1. Hey Larry, CANADA, winter is over, it’s nice here. Honest. Great place for a book tour. Your Canadian fans are waiting.

  13. It’s been about a year since I was at Ramstein AB and I wasn’t there very long (I’m an AF Reservist and only spent 3 months there), but Spring is a great time to be there. If you have some spare time, check out “Burg Nanstein.” It’s a castle that overlooks the town of Landsthul (right across the autobahn from the base).

Hope you enjoy it, it’s always nice to have a slice of home come and visit!

  14. Just meet Mr. Correia at ramestein PX and I was blown away by how open he was. Answered all of my question and didn’t hurry me off. Gave me insight about upcoming projects can’t wait for more. LT Olney
