I almost forgot!
Brad Torgersen’s first novel, The Chaplain’s War is coming out tomorrow from Baen.
I want to push this book as high as possible. Brad is a great guy, great author, and this is his very first novel. He’s one of my Writer Nerd Game Night players, a Sad Puppies alumni, Chief Warrant Officer in the Army National Guard, and all around good dude who needs to sell a ton of books so he can quit his day job and spend more time writing awesome books.
So mark your calenders, tomorrow. Let’s all buy Chaplain’s War and tell our friends. I’ll put up another post tomorrow to link to with the Book Bomb info.
I may actually have money tomorrow. Do you know if there will be an ebook available?
The ebook’s been available from Baen on their website for a couple of weeks now, I haven’t gotten around to reading it yet though. It’s in the queue.
I managed to get my claws on an eARC. This is a book worth reading. Torgersen adds depth to the standard mil sf scenario and makes it seem fresh.
With Larry’s indulgence, here’s a link to the review I posted last week: http://adventuresfantastic.com/futurespastandpresent/a-review-of-the-chaplains-war/
I’ll be reading pretty much anything Brad writes.
Picked it up in the webscription. Great book.
I love the stories Brad used as the basis for this book (both stories by him, for the record). I can’t wait to pick this one up and read it. Told him a couple weeks back that I’d been looking forward to this one for a while. 🙂
Been looking forward to this.
Got to remember to post a review, too. Brad writes s/f like I used to read when the world was taller, and Pournelle, Cherryh, and Heinlein were on the low shelf where I could reach ’em.
Well worth buying a couple, to lend out that is. Because chances are you won’t be getting ’em back…
Picked it up just now for my Kindle and used some extra money to pick up the first Monster Hunter. Figured I enjoy reading your blog so much I should read your books also.
Well shit, if I had known you were doing this last week when I got the Kindle version-eh, who am I kidding, I still would have jumped the gun. Anyway I would highly recommend it, in many ways it’s a retread of the original short stories, but considering those were outstanding, I consider it money well spent.
I’m in Westpac on deployment (across the date line) and have no idea if it’s tomorrow yet for you or not, but what the hell. Just bought it. 🙂 Loved the Chaplain’s Legacy and thought it got robbed this year, so I expect I’ll love the novel too. 🙂
Salvo away! Looking forward to it, and to the results…
These new writers must be rich to be able to afford to get their work published
