A new anthology I’m in, Giant Kaiju Monsters!

I mentioned this one before because it was Kickstartered by a new independant publishing house. It is an anthology of giant monster stories!  http://rcm-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/cm?lt1=_blank&bc1=000000&IS2=1&bg1=FFFFFF&fc1=000000&lc1=0000FF&t=monshuntnati-20&o=1&p=8&l=as4&m=amazon&f=ifr&ref=ss_til&asins=B00ICCX5QY

I had fun with mine, The Great Sea Beast. Since the theme was kaiju I went 12th century Japanese. And for anybody who follows the WNGN fiction you may recognize much of the Yoritomo Oki story in there. Overall I think it came out pretty darned good.

There are a ton of stories in this one, and it has been extensively illustrated. I’ve not got to read most of the others yet, but I’ve heard really good reviews so far.

And if you are in the mood for short stories, here is my attempt at writing straight up horror, only in space, and Lovecraft themed. 🙂  http://rcm-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/cm?lt1=_blank&bc1=000000&IS2=1&bg1=FFFFFF&fc1=000000&lc1=0000FF&t=monshuntnati-20&o=1&p=8&l=as4&m=amazon&f=ifr&ref=ss_til&asins=061591859X

  1. Do the folks that did the Space Eldritch cover have spelling problems? Trying to figure out why you are sorted below “D” in an otherwise alphabetical list of authors. Does Correia have some special Portuguese C/K figure that defies English spelling?

  2. I’m going to go broke buying your stuff.

Coins, patches, and lighter made it and are as advertised, excellent quality.

  3. The daikaiju story was top notch. It’s definitely a contender for best in the book. (And all the stories in it I’ve read so far have been pretty good.)

I wasn’t so fond of the Space Eldritch II entry. The premise was awesome and the writing was great, but it ran headlong into one of my pet peeves about explaining the monster. (Which admittedly says something about me, and not a great deal about anything else.)
My personal quibbles aside, it’s a very good collection. I highly recommend it–with the caveat that some of the stories are sequels to stories that took place in Space Eldritch, it isn’t strictly necessary to read them first, but it isn’t a bad idea, either.

  4. Hey, I know your into Privateer Press’s WARMACHINE game, thought you might like to know they also put out a giant robot vs kaiju game called Monsterpocalypse. It’s currently in hiatus but there are several places you can get the minis, (Its a Prepainted CMG format).

  5. If anyone is interested, the audiobook just came out today from Audible. I just bought it, and am looking forward to listening to it.
