BOOK BOMB! 2113: Stories Inspired by the Music of Rush

Today we are Book Bombing the 2113 anthology. Stories inspired by the music of RUSH.

2113: Stories Inspired by the Music of Rush

Kevin J. Anderson (Editor), John McFetridge (Editor)

For those of you new to Book Bombs, the purpose is to get as many people as possible to buy a book on the same day in order to move it up the rankings on Amazon. The higher it gets, the more new people see it. The more eyes on it, the more exposure and sales, success breeds success, and the authors GET PAID. 🙂

I know several of the authors in this one. They are fantastically talented. Kevin J. Anderson is buddies with Rush (but probably still not a *real* author!). Then there are stories from Mike Williamson, Brad Torgersen, Misty Lackey, Dave Farland, and many more. The stories are each tailored to a song.

And Rush? Well, they’re awesome. I got to see them live once, and it was one of the coolest concerts I’ve ever been to. They are legend. If you need me to tell you about them, you are missing out.

I missed out on this anthology because of too many commitments. I totally would have written one for Nobody’s Hero.

This is different than most Book Bombs because it is for a preorder. The book will not be shipping until April, so I’m not going to be posting stats. I had to do it this way though, because on release date I’m going to be in Europe, so it was too early or too late, and I’ve got another book I need to bomb at the end of April.

So check it out, tell your friends. BOOK BOMB!

Oddly, I have more hearing damage from rock concerts than from guns. (When I was growing up, nobody ever told me to wear hearing protection at a concert.)

I was young and foolish; and the ringing always went away – until the Grace Under Pressure tour (but I don’t hold that against them ). It’s been there ever since 🙂

I’m in… I don’t really need any more reading material at this point, but my desire to see the theme from 2112 fleshed out in print has overwhelmed my desire to keep a few coins in my pocket. Additional stories based on Rush’s other songs is just icing on the cake.

Totally ordered!I can’t even say if I will like the stories, but the IDEA of a book inspired by an album is just too good to pass up. Like a literary Fantasia.

Thanks for the book bomb on this, Larry! I posted a snippet from my own story, over at my blog, earlier in the week. This anthology was a kick in the pants (to be invited to) and I hope all of Monster Hunter Nation enjoys. 😀

I am curious about one thing: why is the paperback cheaper than the e-book ??

The paperback’s list price, from what I can see, is $16.95, but AZ is discounting it, which it can’t do with ebooks because of an agreement they have with publishers. Larry wrote a detailed post on the economics of publishing and ebook prices you might want to check out. Personally, I think publishers that charge more than $9.99 for an ebook are shooting themselves in the foot, but their authors don’t have any control over this, so I’ve preordered the book because I want to support authors like Brad and also because, thanks to trad publishers making it easy for… Read more »

I enjoyed the heck out of Decisively Engaged. I see you’ve got book 2 out now. Gonna go get me that one too.

Gonna check out your other stuff as well.

Thank you, although the new release is the Audible version of Decisively Engaged, not the sequel (that should be out in April, hopefully). 🙂

Same here. Ordered, grudgingly, to support the BB movement as much as for the book. Now if someone would reprint the Moorcock/Butterworth Hawkwind novels..

Because publishers are hoping these horseless carriages are just a passing fad.

If anyone cares, Twitter shut down Twwetdeck, the twitter app that is immune to shadowbanning and paid advertizements.

Now I am even more glad I killed my twitter.

No, they’re only shutting down the Windows desktop client version of Tweetdeck. The web version )which most people use) isn’t going away.

Not that I trust Twitter not to screw it up in somw way.

My only reaction to the music of Rush is BLEEECCCCH.

What a coincidence! That’s my reaction to Caustic chemicals.

Dang, if only I had money (even just a little bit). The only thing better than a book full of stories inspired by Rush songs would be listening to those same songs while reading the book full of stories.

So, will all the pre-orders hit the stats as a landslide on release?
