Next Book Bomb! April 14th, John C. Wright’s AWAKE IN THE NIGHT LAND

It is BOOK BOMB time!

Monday is the release date for John C. Wright’s new novel, Awake in the Night Land, and I want to give it a signal boost.

I first got to know John from his blogging. Like me, he’s a successful writer who is also an out of the closet conservative that is not afraid to stick to his guns, however John is so eloquent and so profoundly philosophical that he makes anything I write on the same topic look like HULK SMASH! John writes like a modern day C.S. Lewis, and I don’t say that lightly.

I don’t have a link for his new novel yet but will post it on Monday. I have not read this one yet, because I just got my advanced copy this morning, but I’m really excited to read it.

For those of you not familiar with how a Book Bomb works, that is where we pick a good book and an author who deserves a signal boost, and then we get as many people as possible to purchase the book on the same day. This bumps it up the Amazon bestseller lists, and the higher it gets, the more new people notice it. Success breeeds success, and we’ve had some pretty amazing results from Book Bombs in the past.

  1. Searching both amazon and barnes and noble sites for
John C. Wright Awake in the Night Land returns 0 hits for me.

  2. This is all Amazon has of John Wright. No “pre-order” books available for him right now. http://www.amazon.com/John-C.-Wright/e/B001IR1FZS/ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_10?qid=1397162151&sr=8-10

  3. I bought the first book in his Chronicles of Chaos trilogy a few years ago. That prompted a quick trip back to the bookstore to pick up the rest! He is a great writer and I look forward to Monday’s festivities!

  4. Been reading about this over at Vox Popoli, can’t wait for it.

  5. The Amazon listing for AWAKE IN THE NIGHT LAND will be live by Monday morning, along with at least one substantive early review posted at VP.

And it is excellent. It would be difficult to use too many superlatives in describing it.

  6. I have quite a fondness for HULK SMASH! but C.S. Lewis is good, too.

  7. According to the press release, it isn’t a novel though. Rather it is “a collection of four novellas”

  8. I just started reading Wright’s “The Golden Age” and it is an incredible read… do yourself a favor and buy it too while you are at it.

  9. Rather it is “a collection of four novellas”

It is, but the novellas are all linked and tell a collective story that spans millions of years. It is something between a novel and an anthology.

  10. This is a great idea! How would a new unknown author get you to possibly review his upcoming book? It’s a similar genre to your earlier work that your fans might enjoy.

    • Sadly, I can’t. I get requests constantly to read other people’s books, especially new folks, and I just don’t have the time. The part of my brain used for writing is the same part that is used for reading.

      • Please stop all reading immediately, Larry.

      • I understand completely. I really do. I figured it was a long shot but nothing ventured and all that. If you ever do have a moment, I have a couple of sample chapters over on my blog. Going to be adding more as time passes. Still a huge fan and currently reading book 2 in your Dead Six series. You don’t let us down!

  11. I’m slugging my way through the original The Night Land right now – any idea if finishing that is necessary to enjoying Wright’s work?

And I concur, his blog is exceptional, as is the Last Guardian of Everness.

  12. I’m slugging my way through the original The Night Land right now – any idea if finishing that is necessary to enjoying Wright’s work?

Not in the slightest. I suspect it might work better the other way around.

  13. It’s up in the Kindle store and available for purchase. I’ll be waiting until Monday.

  14. Best book I have read in years. The last story was simply amazing. I still can’t get the images out of my head. My dreams were haunted by big fleshy bats with webbed wings like a muscular man last night. I hope nothing sticks tonight.

  15. Not that those were in the story. Just that creepy stuff was all I dreamed about. Really creepy.

  16. John is so eloquent and so profoundly philosophical that he makes anything I write on the same topic look like HULK SMASH! John writes like a modern day C.S. Lewis, and I don’t say that lightly.

I hold both the eloquent approach and the HULK SMASH approach in high esteem!

  17. 8:15 EST on April 13th, 2014 the current ranking is #23,805 Paid in Kindle Store
