Sunday Afternoon Painting

These are a unit for my Warmachine army. Mercenary gun mages. (think pistol wizards. They’d probably do really good at IPSC).  I painted the whole unit fairly quickly, but I think they came out pretty well. My crappy iPhone pictures don’t really capture the shading, but the browns on the cloaks came out extremely well.

The captain. (hey, it is a mini-me).

    1. Naw. These are mercs. I’m running Highborn Covenant. My daughter runs Cygnar however, so when we play against each other she claims my gun mages.

  1. I’ll have you know that not only have you separated me from my money with MHI et al., you’ve also recently gotten me into Warmachine. Almost have all of my Khador starter pack painted, and just put in an order for some Winterguard and some mercenaries of various sorts. Now I want some of those gun mages. My pocketbook does not thank you. I hope you’re happy.

  2. How long have you been painting, Larry? The mud, shading, and eye techniques show experience, but I don’t have any way of judging how much it takes to get to that point.

    1. I’ve been doing this for about a year and a half. I’ve painted probably 130 or so models.
I’ve still got a ton to learn though. Fun hobby. 🙂
