Understanding media, or why are you right-wingers so filled with hate?

It is time to help out my racist/hick/red-state/hate-monger readership again. Some of you have been confused by the media coverage of yesterday’s tragic shooting. As a “wise Latino” who understands the media, let me help you:

A left-wing, Communist Manifesto reading, schizophrenic, nut-bar, dirt bag that posts obviously deranged YouTube videos about mind control, who has no association with the Tea Party, shoots a congresswoman = SARAH PALIN IS EVIL

Yes, that can be confusing. I know. Bear with me. Remember the last time we went over this kind of thing:

A Muslim in the US Army, after preaching Jihad and corresponding with Al Queda in Yemen, goes on a shooting rampage while screaming “Allah Akbar” = NOT TERRORISM

Clear?

I know you may be thinking that the correct thing to do here is to take the assassin, try him, and execute him accordingly, but that would be incorrect. The proper thing to do is pin the whole thing on the people that the media don’t like first.

Remember:

Tea Party movement is about how regular Americans are sick of paying too much in taxes and the government is too big and ineffectual = SETTING A DANGEROUS AND VIOLENT TONE

Making a movie about the assassination of George Bush = ART

Okay, I’m ticked. You know it is time for a political blog post when you get to sleep in on a Sunday morning and you still wake up angry.

Why am I mad?

Because I am sick and tired, because I’m a gun owner, for being blamed every single time a nut job goes on a rampage. But at least I’m used to it. I was a gun rights activist back when Bill Clinton was president. We’ve been blamed for every whackadoo, schizophrenic, off his meds, mopey-ass nitwit crying for attention that has ended up on the news.

It never mattered that people like me and the people that I trained were the last line of defense against these types. It never even mattered when it was a CCW holder that stopped the shooting. That part usually didn’t get mentioned.

But we got used to it. Gun people see it coming. We expect it as soon as we hear that there has been another senseless murder on the news. We know that we are going to get maligned and vilified by a media that only cares about pushing an agenda (and gun control was liberal cause #1 back in the 90s) and not that their 24/7 coverage and insta-stardom for the bad guy is going to spur copycats, but that’s okay, because like I said, we are used to being the bad guy.

So…  How do the rest of you feel now?

See, now it isn’t just us gun owners, it is the entire right leaning half of the country. It is the one third of the nation that belongs to the Tea Party. This shooting yesterday? The media declared it was your fault, your hatred, your bitterness, that set it off. They were open and blunt about it before the facts came in, and once the facts were out, the mainstream toned it down to just insinuation while the lefty fringe got even crazier.

I wasn’t even paying attention until I stupidly took a break from writing (ironically, about an incident involving a lone nut assassin in 1933) and went onto Facebook where I discovered that there had been a shooting and that it had been caused by (in order of evil):  Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Arizonans in favor of closing the border, Rush Limbaugh, the Tea Party, and easy access to guns… Whew. My people came in last for once!

So I looked into it, fully expecting the shooter to be some right-wing crazy spouting off Ayn Rand.

Nope. Not even close. But I forgot. Reality doesn’t matter.

Right after the shooting, before anyone knew what was going on, so early that the president himself didn’t even know if the congresswoman was deceased or not, the Daily Kos (the mixed nut selection par excellence) ran an article about how this was Sarah Palin’s fault because Giffords was one of the members of congress she had “targeted”.

Targeted. Yes, to get voted out of office. I missed the part about shooting them.

Apparently, we are no longer allowed to use any words that can be construed as weapons related. The chain of stores known as Target will henceforth be called Big Red More Expensive Walmart.

Oh, but Correia, surely Sarah Palin was calling for VIOLENCE with such careless use of words.

Okay…

If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun. – Barack Obama (in a lame attempt to sound like Sean Connery) during the fight for Obamacare.

I had one Facebook idiot (Hi, Bob Snare!) who has since unfriended me so I can’t find the quote, say how Sarah Palin was bad because she called the shooting a tragedy. He said that she couldn’t call for violence and then have it both ways!

Uhm… What? That’s loopy as hell right there. I pointed out that she hadn’t called for violence (outside of in the imagination of lefties where us evil conservatives are going to round them all up and put them in reeducation camps run by Jerry Falwell) and besides the shooter turned out to be a schizophrenic nut-weasel. (I watched his YouTube videos yesterday… wow. Just wow).

We went back and forth, with me typing on my iPhone. The shooter wasn’t even from my side of the political spectrum! I pointed out that among the assassin’s  favorite books were the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf.

I was told that there were other books on there too…

Yes, but there aren’t a lot of Tea Partiers with the Communist friggin’ Manifesto in their FAVORITES list. I read the Communist Manifesto once, mostly so I could argue with morons more effectively, but it sure as hell wouldn’t make my favorites list. (It is horrid) Nor would it make the favorites list of anybody who listened to Sarah Palin so intently that they’d go shoot somebody for her.

Then various liberals jumped on said that the Bible was responsible for the most killings of all (actually, I’m pretty sure Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, and Imperial Japan edge out Jesus and the Crusades by a good margin) and then somebody else had a giant rambling bunch of BS about how Communism and Nazism are both exactly like being conservative today, and how they are nothing like being liberal… He also used a bunch of big words to display his academic prowess, though he used several of them wrong. (for the record, I’ve written two books on the 1930s… Don’t try to spout off about historical political theory to impress me, because you are probably going to look like an idiot).

I was told to shut up and **** off. All in caps. Like he was screaming it while ineffectually punching at his crying pillow. (it smells of lilacs… and shame) Man, I wish I could access that quote, because it was comedy gold.  Basically, children are dead! I was told that I have a blog and to take my “right wing ideologies” there because I wasn’t welcome on his and that people would listen to me because I have “bestsellers” and he actually put bestsellers in quotes.

(for the record, I’ve now made 4 different national bestseller lists on multiple occasions, top 25 on Amazon and #4 in the country on Nielsen Bookscan in my genre, and the big dog, the NYT… so I don’t really think the quotes are necessary, Bub)

He told me to take it to my blog.

My pleasure.

Then he posted this to my page:  During his campaign effort to unseat Giffords, GOP challenger Jesse Kelly held fundraisers where he urged supporters to help remove Giffords from office by joining him to shoot an M-16. “I don’t see the connection,” said John Ellinwood, Kelly’s spokesman. “I don’t know this person, we cannot find any records that he was associated with the campaign in any way.” John Ellinwood is clearly an idiot.

Okay. So because somebody else shot a gun at some point in time, that is clearly what motivated the shooter that didn’t listen to nor had any association with the people that shot the gun. If he had asked them to help him shoot an M-16 AT SOMEBODY, then I could see the issue.

Bob, you are an idiot. You are a half-wit, slobbering moron. My brain will not allow me to descend to a level of dumb sufficient to form a response that you will understand.  For everybody else, M-16s are a lot of fun to shoot. (not a lot of fun to carry around all day with crap bolted to them). To most regular people, guns are a normal part of life. We use them. They are fun. Politicians like things that are fun, because then they can use said fun things to raise money.

Only in la-la land can you stretch that far and still sound credible. The rest of us just scratch our heads and feel kind of sorry for you.

Once upon a time, after ObamaCare was passed, Nancy Pelosi said that the founding fathers would be pleased. The response I put on this blog was “Bitch, George Washington would run you through with his sword.”   So by the media’s demented reasoning, if Nancy Pelosi ever gets murdered, it would be my fault.

An Arizona sheriff(you get one guess where he falls on the whole secure the border thing) issued a statement yesterday saying that “Arizona has become a Mecca for prejudice and bigotry”.

What is with these people? Do they wait for something awful to happen so that they can harness it to whatever their pet issue is? Yes. The white congresswoman and a bunch of white people were shot by a crazy white guy because of prejudice against Mexicans. Do these idiots ever listen to themselves? Wait… shouldn’t the sheriff have to apologize for using the word Mecca in a negative light?

I read repeatedly yesterday about how Glenn Beck has been calling for violence… Really? Has he ever actually done that? Or has that just been repeated over and over again on the left as some sort of mantra until it has become their truth?  Here’s the thing. I listen to Glenn Beck on my morning commute because it is one of the only stations I can get up in the mountains. I’m not a Beck defender nor am I a huge fanboy (mostly because a lot of the stuff he’s saying now I was called crazy for saying ten years ago, so it is kind of old news. Welcome to the party, Brother Beck).  Beck is the opposite of calling for violence. He’s railed on it over and over, and he’s terrified that somebody on our side will do something stupid. He’s asked people to pray for the safety of our elected officials.

That sure sounds like a call for violence to me.

This whole thing ticks me off, though it shouldn’t. I should know better. I should know it is coming.  I’m tired of the media talking about average Americans on my side of the fence like we’re just simmering and ready to explode, while Black Panthers threatening people with clubs get a pass.  I’m tired of union leaders being caught on tape talking about using violence and intimidation as a valid political tool getting zero coverage, while people on my side are maligned for things they didn’t say.

None of this is new. Crazies have been killing politicians since they were tossing black powder bombs under their carriages. The only reason Roosevelt lived long enough to become president only because Gieseppe Zanagara (who believed evil capitalists had cursed him with a disease that caused flatulence) was short and had to stand on a wobbly chair to see over the crowd.

The victims are the people that got killed or injured. The villain is the person that shot them, not regular America, no matter how fervently the press wishes it would be.

EDIT: I just got an e-mail with a link where it was pointed out by a random illiterate internet moron that my facts were wrong and “cringe-worthy” when I said that the Crusades had killed fewer people than various modern political ideologies because the Crusades went on a really looong time. Nope. Read a book sometime. Population density was much lower then.  In fact, even if I take the highest estimated death toll numbers for all the Crusades put together that I can find, Stalin by himself would probably still win.

  1. Larry, I have been holding an online conversation about this… and you made my points OH so much more eloquently than I have.
    I shall be forwarding this.

    Jim

  2. The so-called left are the textbook definition of “Fascism.” There’s nothing liberal about them.

I had a conversation with one, where tolerance was raised. I was told basically, “I don’t have to be tolerant of those hateful haters who hate.” Such as Glen Beck.

Since I don’t watch TV or listen to radio, I asked what the reference was. I was told about his “hate march” that had not yet taken place. The march to raise money for wounded vets, I think it was. Yes, that was just a cover and a code name for racism.

I’m trying to see it from their point of view, but I just can’t stick my head that far up my ass.

  3. Larry, I’ve already told everybody in my Facebook (I’m friends with people across the political spectrum) that, if they display unreasoning hatred of people politically opposed to them (say, blaming the tea party for this incident), I will un-friend them. I am sick and tired of people on both sides spouting idiotic and hat bull-pucky. There’s a podcast I’ve stopped listening to because he is spouting idiotic hate filled stuff from the right. I’ve also unfriended several liberals because of this.

  4. I am right there with you Larry, I am a gun owner. I have guns in my home, my children understand that they can kill. I am so sick of the Media when ever something happens that is Violent lets blame the Right but scream things like we need the American People to get pitchforks if the republicans do not raise the tax on the rich. I am sick of the Media blaming others instead of the NUT JOB who did this. SO I for one will stand up from now on just like I said on a blog I posted days before this happen on the Constitution.
With this last word I know that violence will only be increasing, but I know for a fact myself as a tea party member will not be the ones who start it, as will I am sure no one from the party.

  5. I was able to grab a screen capture of it if you’d like me to email it to you! Just let me know where to send it

  6. Bravo…..Finally….This has been already posted to Facebook….I will be your fan forever. Someone finally sees it the way it is!

  7. The really ugly little fact liberals and conservatives want to forget or deny is that all government is based on violence. If you go to the polls you will find the vast majority of the population do not feel the government operates based on consent named in the Declaration of Independence as the only legitimate source of governmental authority. That leaves what we have – cops and military with guns who will kill or imprison you if you do not obey.
Somehow they feel their hands are clean because they have hired thugs to coerce you instead of doing it themselves.
So why is anyone surprised when there is violence associated with politics? Are they all such sheep they can’t imagine anyone would ever resist?

    • when one points this out, they invoke Rule of Law. As if that makes it right.
Lawyers I speak to, elected officials, most notably AG John Suthers of Colorado, stated that the rule of law is more important than anything else – if we want it changed, talk to the legislature, that law is not about justice.
He evades questions about use of force for injustice.

  8. well said, Larry well said!

  9. Several months ago, I had heard so much about Glenn Beck inciting violence that for the first time, I decided to actually watch his show. I tuned in, he was talking about how MLK and Ghandi achieved their goals through nonviolent protest and how that was the role model to emulate. Wow. What a menace that guy is.

  10. I guess among their other delusions, lefties like to see themselves as tragic heroes, under threat from the Right for daring to do such good works. (sarcasm included)

It looks like they’ve harped on this theme so much that one of their own took his cue from it.

For years, the left’s media was poised like buzzards to exploit every violent act to call for gun control. Now they use every act to smear their political opposition (enemies to Obama0 and put them so far beyond the pale their views need not be considered.

  11. Less than a week ago, lefty intellectuals were calling for violent revolution in one of their fav periodicals, the Nation.

    http://booksbikesboomsticks.blogspot.com/2011/01/underpants-gnomes-theory-of-social.html

    Deafening silence happens.

  12. As did that perpetual wanker, Ted Rall.

  13. “Bob, you are an idiot. You are a half-wit, slobbering moron.”

halfwit..that might, I say might just be giving him, and other people as well, waaayyy too much credit.

  14. I do believe that the word of the day–nay, of the MONTH–from us in the psych community (in this correspondent’s case, not as a clinician but rather a student who is of atypical neurology himself) is…

    “Projection.”

As in, time to start telling them “Well, I’m not that type, but thanks for the warning that you are, so I know to avoid you when the chips start falling.”

I never will get it: I only have three functional lobes, my unusable frontal lobe leaving me about 1/3 brain-dead, and I still manage to see this. These people are running on all four, and all they can manage is this kind of verbal bowel-movement? That level of Epic SUCK defies belief…

  15. “Books:I had favorite books: Animal Farm, Brave New World, The Wizard Of OZ, Aesop Fables, The Odyssey, Alice Adventures Into Wonderland, Fahrenheit 451, Peter Pan, To Kill A Mockingbird, We The Living, Phantom Toll Booth, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Pulp,Through The Looking Glass, The Communist Manifesto, Siddhartha, The Old Man And The Sea, Gulliver’s Travels, Mein Kampf, The Republic, and Meno.”

I believe, to call him a “left-wing” is also inappropriate. This guy was so far out of normal human thought that I don’t think he knew the difference. “Crazy-wing,” maybe, but not left-wing or right wing.

    • Agreed. This is one of those cases where the guy’s politics only make sense to himself.

Other than that, I’d agree with most of what Larry said.

    • Yup. If he was about two steps less violent, he would have just stayed home and smeared himself with his own feces instead. Which party affiliation does that? The Crazy Party perhaps? Party of one?

      • More like flung his feces at anybody within range, like a monkey at the zoo…

      • Leftist Donner Party- head so far up his a** the only option is to chew his way out.

      • @Chris: Or have somebody perform an abdominovisiotomy… same thing, just with a surgeon’s help and better tools.

  16. As you go thru life you need to keep a list of people like this BOB guy Larry mentioned as well as people like Senators Chuckie Schumer , Finstine, Peeloosly , Reid etc.. ya see some day you may be invited to a lecture on Hemorrhoids and you’ll need to bring an asshole..

As for me..I’m a 3%.. I care not that they know… nor that they may decide to act.. it’s been way to long since the last Shot Heard Round the World… and now it’s our own “Red coats… perhaps “Turncoats” is more apt…that are turning against the people.. so if the fiddler must play then let us dance!!… and maybe this time we won’t let them destroy what we rebuild…

In the book Starship Troopers the only people who could vote were those who served…in one form or another… good idea!! why should those who won’t serve be allowed to vote ?…and even the blind wheelchair bound can serve in some useful way..

    What is a “Three Percenter”?
During the American Revolution, the active forces in the field against the King’s tyranny never amounted to more than 3% of the colonists. They were in turn actively supported by perhaps 10% of the population. In addition to these revolutionaries were perhaps another 20% who favored their cause but did little or nothing to support it. Another one-third of the population sided with the King (by the end of the war there were actually more Americans fighting FOR the King than there were in the field against him) and the final third took no side, blew with the wind and took what came.

Three Percenters today do not claim that we represent 3% of the American people, although we might. That theory has not yet been tested. We DO claim that we represent at least 3% of American gun owners, which is still a healthy number somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 million people. History, for good or ill, is made by determined minorities. We are one such minority. So too are the current enemies of the Founders’ Republic. What remains, then, is the test of will and skill to determine who shall shape the future of our nation.

The Three Percent today are gun owners who will not disarm, will not compromise and will no longer back up at the passage of the next gun control act. Three Percenters say quite explicitly that we will not obey any futher circumscription of our traditional liberties and will defend ourselves if attacked. We intend to maintain our God-given natural rights to liberty and property, and that means most especially the right to keep and bear arms. Thus, we are committed to the restoration of the Founders’ Republic, and are willing to fight, die and, if forced by any would-be oppressor, to kill in the defense of ourselves and the Constitution that we all took an oath to uphold against enemies foreign and domestic.

We are the people that the collectivists who now control the government should leave alone if they wish to continue unfettered oxygen consumption. We are the Three Percent. Attempt to further oppress us at your peril. To put it bluntly, leave us the hell alone. Or, if you feel froggy, go ahead AND WATCH WHAT HAPPENS.

    • 3% – Thanks for the information. Word.

    • My Granddad was a man of few words and mostly action. He stated the following to me as a young man.

“A man has his land, his home, and his gun. Of which he cannot do without his gun.”

“A well aimed single shot can beat the biggest giant. Just ask David.”

“Men and women are different and know this from birth. To bad the rest of the pansies in this world can’t figure it out!”

“How come we can’t use the truth to be the (expletive deleted) out of the liberals like Reagan did?”

  17. [...] This post was mentioned on Twitter by Frank Hart, Hecate's Crossroad. Hecate's Crossroad said: Larry Correia says it perfectly: http://bit.ly/i0X0c5 [...]

  18. What I have noticed on the “foamy mouthed gun nut” web boards is people saying “This is terrible. I’ll be praying for the people who got shot.”

Any bets as to what I’d find if I went to the usual lefty web haunts.

    • No bet…I’ve read some of them.

    • Yup, even the more moderate sites are over flowing with bile right now. The lefties may have no evidence what so ever that the killer even knew who Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck are but that is not stopping them from demanding their arrest and conviction.
Liberal definition of hate speech is “disagrees with me.”

  19. Also, can’t forget that in the crusades both sides were fighting. Most of the casualties were opposing warriors. If you actually counted the murders and massacres of non-combatants (which is what we’re talking about with Stalin and the others) the number would be much, much lower.

    • People that bring up the Crusades as this great evil thing that Westerners brought down on the poor innocent muslims need to read a fucking history book.

Muslims attacked Persian and Christian peoples first. It was Muhammad’s followers that invaded former Roman and Greek lands that were ruled by laws and executed all those who would not convert.

I would say that Muslim attacks on the Persian Empire, Byzantines, Spain, and SE Europe killed more people and lasted longer than the Crusades. That doesn’t even mention all the casualties muslim “Crusades” into India and Southwest Asia.

Anyone who holds up the Crusades as an example is instantly put on my “idiot leftie wannabee intellectual” list. That doesn’t mean I won’t speak to them. It only means I will choose a very public time and place to expose their ignorance.

  20. Daily Kos also ran an article about Gifford in the “bullseye”…. clearly they are responsible for this as well!

  21. I’ve been saying much the same thing all day, but you put it so very eloquently, I can’t help but bask in the dusky glow of such a well crafted final say on the matter.

  22. I read this after seeing it posted on your FB feed and immediately linked to it. I’m so glad you’re on our side.

  23. I almost hate to say this…but by now I’m not sure which is more horrible and revolting: The shooting itself, or the Left’s ongoing blood-dancing and blood-libeling in celebration of it.

It’s like some perfect storm of sickness.

    God help our country.

  24. After paying a visit to Mr. Snare’s page, I can honestly say that I’m disappointed with the amount of God-awful stupidity that he and his cronies display. It is very disheartening to think that there are countless people who think along the same lines as a man who honestly believes that Palin is encouraging assassination attempts on her opponents.
It is even less encouraging to read in posts by his obviously “educated” friends (namely a Mr. Todd McMillan and his brilliant partner in crime, John Lucas,) how conservatives treat anyone who isn’t white like a cheap whore, and how God must have told the shooter to do it because all homicidal maniacs quote the Bible.

It’s good to know that this is what our nation is coming to.

  25. Amen. Nuff said.

  26. Larry,
Thanks for the extra information. I’ve been fighting our fight on some on-line fronts, too. They just don’t get it.
They worship government, and any attack on it’s anointed people is sacrilege.
If there is an attack, it must be the Right.
They ignore the fact that the government sanctions violence every day, and there is collateral damage.
They ignore the government, that kills innocent people in the Drug War.
it’s all the fault of the Right, and anyone who agrees with them on anything.
The facts don’t matter – they BELIEVE the Right is evil, so all bad things are our fault. Just wait until the Big One hits LA.
    Ralph

  27. To argue with a Liberal about guns, You need to put it in term that they will recognize. The argument against gun control should be short and emotional:

Every mass murder has been preceded by disarmament. Therefore, if letting people have guns prevents just one Holocaust, it’s worth it.

  28. People who throw up evil Christians and the Crusades usually tend to avoid mentioning the Mongol invasion of the Middle East that happened later on and was more destructive to the region.

  29. [...] Addendum #2: Larry Correia says it so much better than I did. Read this! [...]

  31. Re: a Mecca for intolerance and hate. Being controlled by Wahabbist Muslims, wouldn’t Mecca itself be a … you know … center of intolerance, misogyny, and hate?

For the record, I think this guy’s politics are exactly as relevant as the Ft. Hood shooter’s, ie, not at all. He is a mad dog who got his “one bite”.

  32. According to this fellow’s research, http://users.erols.com/mwhite28/warstat0.htm#Crusades, the total estimated killed in all Crusades is around 3 million.

The same fellow, http://users.erols.com/mwhite28/warstat1.htm#Stalin, estimates Stalin’s death toll to be around 20 million.

Now, I know math is hard and all that to the lefties, but 20 million is far greater than 3 million. Toss in the fact that all of Stalin’s dead where his own people, I have to say anyone arguing that the Crusades were worse than Stalin is a first class moron. Public education delenda est.

  33. Larry,

Don’t worry, you aren’t the only one out there having to deal with people who are clueless about this issue! They don’t see the hypocrisy in engaging in violent political rhetoric as a way to combat violent political rhetoric (which had nothing to do with this tragic incident!).

  34. In fact, even if I take the highest estimated death toll numbers for all the Crusades put together that I can find, Stalin by himself would probably still win.

    And Mao certainly would.

  35. How many deaths can be attributed to Communism? Most estimates are around 100 to 150 million.

Lets put that in perspective. According to the census there are 308 million people in the US today. So Commies are responsible for the deaths of enough people to account for about half of the US population.

  36. Giffords was a conservative, people!

Thanks to the police and EMT’s who reacted so quickly and saved lives. My prayers are with the families of the people killed and injured by this man.

    — The Tea Party.
    — Gun owners.
    — Sarah Palin.
    — …Sarah Palin.
    — The Republican Party.
    — Conservatives et al.

I am not quite sure what to make of it, other than that for some people, politics truly does trump all. They will grasp at any excuse to villify and brand those whom they see — not as their fellow brothers and sisters at the American dinner table — but unhuman impediments in need of being shoved aside, silenced, or disposed of.

Of course, the nation has always been at odds with itself. Historically, half the country has tended to dislike the other half, sometimes less and sometimes more, off and on. But in our media-saturated era of hyper-news, events like the Arizona shooting at the Safeway take on a life all their own — disconnected from common sense, if not reality altogether.

Thus politically-delicious non sequiturs — such as people calling for the arrest of Sarah Palin as an accessory to murder. Or Limbaugh or Beck. Holding an entire political movement responsible for the actions of someone who — in fact — appears to have had little or no connection to that movement. But because if feels good to paint “the enemy” as murderous rampaging bastards, then by all means, make the (non)connection.

I agree with Larry. After spending the last decade hearing from the Left about how every large and small act of Islamic terrorism did not, in fact, have anything to do with Islam — move along folks, nothing to see here, move along — it’s impossible to take these current critics seriously. They have for years made apologetics and excuses for real terrorism, then exploit a disconnected tragedy to conjur spooky ghost horror stories about (imaginary) domestic terrorism in the form of… whoever they see fit. Ergo, Palin.

  49. http://www.philly.com/dailynews/local/113264624.html

according to the guy who actually committed the crime, he was mad about civil war constitutional amendments, the gold standard, the government’s control of grammar, and living in a dream world. no mention of sarah palin, glenn beck, recent political banter, or anything else claimed by the media. there, now people can discuss the real causes of this tragedy and decide if anything is to be done about them.

  50. The left are STILL tying the right wing and Fox News to the shooter, even in light of the interview with the shooter’s frined about how this guy did not watch TV, hated politics, and never watched Beck or Palin. (Notice that Beck, Hannity, Palin, Bush, and O’Reilly were absent on his favorite books list) Isn’t there a psych term for someone that refuses to believe in reality when presented with facts that contradict their preconceived notions? Guy I have on FB list is “informing” others about Jared-the-Nut’s attachment to the right wing and Tea Partiers, based on his rants on central banking and the gold standard. Never mind the fact that the internet film “Zeitgeist” (favorite of JtN) covers this topic in detail.

Delusional doesn’t cover it. On the bright side, if the Rabid Left keeps up this kind of rhetoric, they become the “End-is-Here” guy that no one listens to on the street corner.

    • *frined*= “friend”

      I ar un Ainglish Majer

    • delusional does cover it..so does ass kissing parasites. I watched a few minutes of Ed what’s his nuts on MSNBC last night. First thought that popped into my head was “dude you’ve got your head so far up obama’s rectal opening that when has a moment of flatulence…you defecate”*
      It’s a headshaker…

*Note..notice how I used big words to make it sound “civilized” the liberal fucktards of the world should be sooo proud of me…or maybe not.

  51. I must ask – I know I was passing notes to girls during classes on morals and religion – did I miss the part where the Right is guilty of all things?
Like many of you here, I seem to have missed the gelding ceremony.
I did get my bars at commissioning. The only liberal we saw was an old gf afterward who scandalized my ex-mother-in-law by kissing me in congratulations. Her BF didn’t mind, but that former wife did.

  52. This is the conversation I had on Tuesday: (using intials for the guy I was arguing with) Keep in mind that this man is a mental health professional, and while a rabid leftist, has never given me reason to doubt his intelligence or sense of decency and fairness, until now. We have generally disagreed idealogically, but understand that both of us have a different solution set for the problems we see.

A.N.S.- Stay classy Sarah….or just stay hypocritical.

“Sarah Palin’s Crosshairs Map Still on Facebook | TMZ.com
    http://www.tmz.com
Sarah Palin still has not removed the controversial target list map from her Facebook page — the one that was posted back in March and features…”

Chris Smith- So its come out that the shooter was a Palin supporter? He used the map as a reference?

ANS-No, but she dropped it from her website but not from her facebook. She’s a hypocrite.

Chris Smith She said that people shouldn’t use graphics like that?

ANS-Why did she pull it off her site if she didn’t think it was wrong? She is being a hypocrite because she takes it off the public site the same day as the attack and then leaves it up on facebook.

Chris Smith-I see, so since she took it down, for whatever reason, she must be guilty/feeling guilty, and had she left it up, then she must be guilty/insensitive. I’ve never seen the map, is it nything like this one? http://www.dlc.org/ndol_ci.cfm?contentid=253055&kaid=127&subid=171

ANS-Slightly different. It has crosshairs and a person’s name..read up on how many of them have had death threats since it came out and you might be surprised. Pretty damn disgusting. Being that Senator Giffords SPECIFICALLY had spoken about… it on the news and how offensive it is, maybe, just maybe, it is wrong. If you want to ignore that fact, go ahead. Palin realized it by scrubbing her site the day it happened and missed it on facebook.

When you put crosshairs on someone and their name/face, it is different than what you linked. Very different.

    http://videosift.com/video/Congresswoman-Giffords-talks-about-Palins-gun-crosshair-pic

When O’reilly talks about “decapitating” a Washington Post reporter (google it) and Glenn Beck talks about Killing Michael Moore personally (google it) it is very different than what you linked or anything demos in power have/will say. Get real here Chris, you are in the wrong.

Chris Smith I see, so mentioning the Congresswoman’s name, in a list of people that voted for the health care bill, and no mention whatsoever of violence towards them, as well as posting a map with crosshairs on it denoting districts to target for Congressional races, is the reason this guy shot Rep Gifford? From what I have heard, this NUT was NUTS and focused on Rep Gifford from 07 (before Palin was known on a national level, and way before that map was printed), not a member of ANY political party (registered independent) and had listed as some of his favorite books Animal Farm, Phantom Tollbooth, TKaMockingbird, Mein Kampf, and the Communist Manifesto.

Chris Smith-Nothing I have heard points in any direction to this guy being involved in any way with Palin, Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, or any one else, nor does it point to anyone on the left either. So my POINT on all this is this: anything other than those FACTS listed above, are nothing more than wishful thinking or abject out- of- the- ass- speculation on anyone’s behalf, left or right. The only, ONLY person right now that has any blame in this is the SICK F**& that shot a 9 year old girl, a Congresswoman, and 14 other people. You want real, that’s it right there.

Chris Smith- So, is it insensitive that Palin’s site had the crosshairs, I’ll give you that. Contributed to the shooting, as I have heard so much about today? No, not unless it can be shown that Rep Gifford was was specifically targeted by any public figure for killing. Not rhetoric, not images, or metaphor, I mean honest to God “This person needs to be killed and I want my supporters to literally no $**t go kill this person”. That’s an accessory.

Chris Smith- And Beck and O’reilly’s jokes (yes jokes) were in bad taste. As were Coulter’s about the NY times building. I agree. In context, they were obviously jokes, not serious and intentional threats towards those people. Letterman’s joke towards Palin’s kid was the same (in bad taste, not tone or subject), and the Palin’s overreacted, calling the refeRence “rape.”

Honstly, I hope this guy in AZ gets the death penalty. There is no place on this planet for someone that disturbed. If he hadn’t killed a little girl, I might go easier on him. But had it been my little girl, well, he wouldn’t have made it to jail, I’d have strangled him.

Chris Smith-The main thing that has pissed me off the most is the attempt to turn this into an agenda or political focal point without ANY proof that this was motivated, inspired or influenced by anything except this man’s demented reasoning. I don’t like Palin, I don’t like Beck, or Hannity, or Limbaugh. I think Olbermann is a gas bag, and Schultz is retarded gorilla. However, the automatic attempt by those in the media to lay the blame on anyone else is deplorable. And the back and forth name calling and finger pointing has made me sick.

ANS- Chris: yeah, jokes. Way to excuse calling for decapitation and murder. You are wonderful in the way you excuse hate speech. Do you have any experience with people with command delusions? I do. If they are being TOLD to kill by their voices and then have outside voices tell them to do it also it makes it much more powerful. Think a bit about this. Honestly, think about this. If the voices inside your head are telling you that the government is out to get you and you are extremely paranoid and then you hear from beck, rush, etc that the government and liberals are EVIL and need to be decapitated, how do you think that will go? If everything their delusions are telling them are then followed by the right wing hate speech and calls for murder, who is there to disconnect those voices (other than mental health workers like myself)?

ps. who destroyed mental healthy agencies in America? The republicans with the budget cuts. CA had an amazing program until Reagan came in and dismantled it. You are totally in the wrong here.

Unless you have experience with this you have no clue what you are talking about. Work in a mental health setting for a while and then comment. Otherwise, your opinion on this is just as uninformed as Palin, Beck, Rush and the other right wing hate mongers that have scrubbed their sites of their pages calling for murder and then try to say there is no connection. Get real.

ANS- Ps. you want a damn specific reference to murder by a right winger:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/20/gregg-harper-we-hunt-libe_n_327092.html?ref=fb&src=sp

google this stuff Chris, you are looking incredibly ignorant tryign to defend right wing hate speech.

    ANS- crooksandliars.com/jon-perr/republican-rhetoric-right-wing-terror

and a bit more…right, the right wing terror speech has nothing to do with it…oh, and obama wasn’t born in America…

Chris Smith- I’m not defending anything of the sort! In fact, I said they were in bad taste. And, yeah, they were jokes, told in a joking manner, used as satire and I believe, in O’Reilly’s case, he even said immediately after the comment “That was a joke, I don’t really want that person decapitated”. Not good jokes, not in good taste, and not even all that funny.

Once again, my POINT is that in all of this media hoopla, the left has been foaming at the mouth-you included- and blathering incessantly about how this is the Right’s fault. Beck, Hannity, Palin, Limbaugh, the only one (so far) left out is Bush, and I’m sure someone will get to it in a short while. The only person NOT being blamed is the guy that actually did it! THERE. IS. NO. EVIDENCE. THAT. HE. LISTENED. TO. BECK. PALIN. OR. ANYONE. ELSE. Of all people, as a caring, informed, law abiding, justice seeking person, you should be saying that since there has been ZERO evidence showing this guy to be connected to ANY political group, and that there is absolutely ZERO excuse for assuming anything other than this:

    1) He is mentally unstable

    2) He shot at a Congresswoman’s meet and greet

    3) He killed at least 4 people, including a 9 year old girl and wounded several others

You have no evidence AT ALL to support any theory that this was a crime motivated by anything other than his own delusions. As I said before, anything other than the above is just wishful thinking on your part, and out-of-your-ass speculation.

The left wing has been foaming at the mouth since within minutes of the shooting, wanting to pin it on their political opponents. The right wing has been “defending” itself since immediately after that. Everyone is pointing fingers at everyone else in a game of “Political Grab-Ass” and no one is blaming the guy that did it. It couldn’t have been HIS fault, he is obviously sick. Let’s find someone we don’t like to pin it on.

    It’s disgusting.

ANS- It is their fault. Hate speech has consequences. There are laws that support this. Get real. Your comments are disgusting that you excuse them. You aren’t paying attention: The delusions are fed with hate by right wing speech. I’m done with this conversation with you because you dont’ want to look at reality.

Chris Smith-And nice posts, completely unrelated to what happened in AZ.

Chris Smith-Reality is this: We don’t know what motivated this guy. WE DON’T KNOW. What makes me sick is that this was used IMMEDIATELY by political opponents to attack someone else. If you can’t see that, then I’m not the one with reality issues.

I get it. You don’t like the right wing. Okay. I don’t necessarily like everything about them either. Or the left, for that matter. What I don’t like is dishonesty, smear campaigns, and speculation based on ZERO evidence.

ANS- Chris: last statement: if there is no connection why did the guy running fox tell his own people to shut up and speak nicely yesterday? Even he sees it yet you refuse to…

    http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/01/11/ailes-to-fox-anchors-tone-it-down/?partner=rss&emc=rss

this guy makes nixon look liberal (and worked for him under that horrid regime).

Chris Smith- And again, there is not one shred of evidence that the shooter even watched Fox News, or MSNBC, or CNN. I speculate that Ailes wants to give (can’t say ammunition) his political/business enemies nothing to work with. But I don’t know. His request seems to be more of a response to the media blitz I mentioned, rather than the shooting itself.

Mental health professional, folks. And blames the failing mental health system on the Republicans. I’d say the blind leading the blind, but even a blind man can find his ass with both hands.

  53. [...] and Projection of the Anti’s and the Left – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, [...]

  54. It’s really telling that the author of this unhinged spittle flecked rant immediately cast the shooter as ‘left wing’ yet spends most of this angry rant supposedly upset when people on the left do the same thing, trying to assign blame to the right.

If you want to play the blame game, fine, let’s do it.

How many liberals talk about the gold standard? That’s straight up tea party, Ron Paul nuttiness.

How many liberals talk about the ‘illegitimate tyrannical government? That’s pure Alex Jones paranoia.

You see how easy it is? It doesn’t help the matter at all.

No one said Palin is responsible for this shooting, or at least no one worthy of paying attention to. People are saying that Palin and many on the right have been using excessive language and rhetoric for a few years now, and while unrelated, it’s not something that should be done in a civil society.

Why is it so important to use violent language in a political debate?

Irony is just not a frame of mind right wingers are really capable of processing.

The immediate defensive tone taken by those on the right is very telling.

Maybe, just maybe, you can think twice before casting tens of millions of Americans as traitors or saying stupid things like liberals want to implement socialism to take away all your guns.

That’s just crazy talk, plain and simple. No one is coming for your little guns, people. You are free to carry them to tell the world what a failure of a man you are thinking your gun equals the glorious lack of manhood between your legs.

  55. [...] Luckily, a moon bat happened to read my thread about why right wingers are so filled with hate. http://larrycorreia.wordpress.com/2011/01/09/understanding-media-or-why-are-you-right-wingers-so-fil… As usual, the guest is in italics and my response is in [...]

  56. I have a general question. How can I, a registered Republican, local precinct co-chair, known Transhumanist to my neighbors, pro-choice, pro-gun, pro-child grandfather raising a grandchild, anti-drug war person, listener to Beck & O’Reilly, lover of Mrs. Coulter, be a left winger or a right winger?
Is it because I dislike high taxes or religion? Or because I think women should be treated the way they wish to be treated?
I get called every name in the book by all sides, except for the people here, who are decent, tolerant, law abiding Americans [apologies to foreigners who may be here, I've not noted your presence to date].
I like Larry’s books – I think he is in the tradition of Heinlein, Weber, Ringo, Drake and Pournelle. He writes things I enjoy immensely.
Yet in other places, if I give an opinion, I am Eurocentric because I like milk and cheese, an enemy of the people because I don’t want socialized medicine, a Nazi because I am pro-choice, a Nazi because I like science and genetic engineering [yeah, I know Gordon's Law]. And it’s been pointed out that my love of guns is compensation for male physical inadequacies, as is our monster truck [which is actually my wifes'].
I don’t suppose anyone here has any answers, or are these simply the usual unfathomable screeds of people without a clue? It doesn’t get to me, except when the bigotry makes it harder to get a job. Both the Left and Right are guilty here, at least where I live. If one is not 125% in to the koolaide, one is the Enemy.
Any advice is welcome. I like watching the Gunny as therapist GEICO video when I feel down. Better than meds.

  57. Media runs on numbers and they like controversy. The rest of us tolerate each other because the 75 to 80% of the rest of America are common sense people.
I don’t know of anyone in that 75 to 80% that wouldn’t defend the defenseless, help out a fellow neighbor who is under the weather or in need of help mowing the lawn, who wouldn’t help put out the fire at a neighbor’s house or help them with a bag of groceries left at their door. We are Americans. We help ourselves and our neighbors of our own FREE will. Not because some politician demands we pay for some bureaucrat to take our hard earned money and waste it on useless and fraudulent programs.

Justice: Left in the hands of those who abuse power justice fails every time. Who is suppose to hold the government accountable? The FBI, that’s who. Oh, but wait…that’s right. The FBI is now under the Justice Department! Has been for a while. Who did that? Oh that’s right! The libs! Nice to know that you can pressure the FBI into NOT doing their jobs with politics!

Honor: There is no more honor. Try to defend your wife’s honor after some punks were goosing her ass and groping her boobs and YOU will go to jail. Never mind that those poor innocent bastards who have rap sheets longer than your arm. Evidently terrorizing a neighborhood isn’t a crime until you stand on a corner and preach Jesus. Which, of course, offends everybody according to the media.

Integrity: Or should I say the lack there of? Spend your whole working career being honest, straightforward, and never late. What do you get? Nothing. No company loyalty for decades of service. Makes you proud of those ‘at will’ state laws eh?

Sorry, got started on a rant. =P

  58. Larry, from time to time in a store or other public place you can hear a young child whining and crying just to hear themselves. Usually the parents are ignoring them and it is also obvious that parenting skills are at least temporarily absent. And so the child whines, cries, grabs toys and hits its siblings, throws a tantrum, disobeys their parents, fetches everything not tied down and throws it on the floor, yadda yadda. There are a lot of adults who have not outgrown and also exhibit this kind of immature behavior. I won’t say it’s exclusive to the left, but this kind of behavior in my experience seems to be a integral part of the liberal psyche.
