Updates on MHV release

Okay, it looks like Simon & Schuster should be giving me the books for Uncle Hugos today. I’ll sign all of them tonight and have UPS pick them up tomorrow.  I’ll post here when they arrive.

MHV kicked butt all day yesterday and made the movers and shakers list over on Amazon. We got into the top 300 last night and teens in fantasy, but I was asleep when it happened and didn’t get a screen shot. Yes. I know. I have a problem. The first step is admitting it.

Here is an interview that I did with Elitist Book Reviews. I think it came out really well:  http://elitistbookreviews.blogspot.com/2010/09/interview-with-larry-correia.html

I was supposed to be on Dungeon Crawler’s Radio last night, but had to postpone until next week. I had to go to the hospital to visit a friend who was in an accident. It has been a really bad week for some of my friends, health-wise.

EDIT:  Still trending very well:

Amazon Bestsellers Rank: #406 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)

#20 in  Books > Science Fiction & Fantasy > Fantasy > Contemporary

EDIT 2:  MHV breaks into the 300s

Amazon Bestsellers Rank: #394 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)

#19 in  Books > Science Fiction & Fantasy > Fantasy > Contemporary

EDIT 3!

UPS just showed up with the books for Uncle Hugos! Yay! I’m going to sign them all tonight and send them on to Minneapolis tomorrow.

EDIT 4, my heck this is addictive:

Amazon Bestsellers Rank: #391 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)

#18 in  Books > Science Fiction & Fantasy > Fantasy > Contemporary

It is hard to climb much higher in contemporary fantasy with all those Sookie Stackhouse books on there ahead of me. Hmmm… I need my own cable TV show. That’s the ticket.

EDIT 5.  I’m signing the Uncle Hugo books now. That’s a LOT of books.  But in the meantime, thrill to the awesomness of:

Amazon Bestsellers Rank: #387 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)

#18 in  Books > Science Fiction & Fantasy > Fantasy > Contemporary

  BAM!

EDIT 6: Holy crap, we are now higher than MHI ever got during it’s release week, and that’s with 300 blog followers ordering from Uncle Hugos instead, and last time I got a plug from Instapundit.

Amazon Bestsellers Rank: #338 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)

#15 in  Books > Science Fiction & Fantasy > Fantasy > Contemporary
UPDATE - Uncle Hugos and Misc.
Today is the release for Monster Hunter Vendetta

  1. So how does this work, you ship them back to Uncle Hugo’s, and they ship them out from there?

Unfortunately, the publisher’s lethargy looks like it will mean MHV doesn’t get to be my vacation reading. Shame, I’m looking forward to it.

Oh well, good things come to those who wait.

    1. You weren’t going to take your autographed copy anyway, right? It’s less than $8! Go down to B&N and get you another- why not?

  2. Hope your freind is ok.

So… What’s this you say about a cable tv show?

At least the Sookie Stackhouse vampires don’t sparkle.

Glad the books are on the way, yay!

  3. I was thinking of taking it on our annual huge shooting trip in a couple of weeks, but it is a valid point to just get another copy for reading and stow the signed copy next to my autographed Dale Earnhardt Sr car. Keep it secret, keep it safe.

  4. Yay on your ratings! Unfortunately, I won’t be helping with your Amazon rating – can’t stand the wait for a mailed copy, so I’m headed to BN tomorrow for my travel copy. The Uncle Hugo copy will be sitting nicely on the shelf… Any idea when Baen might put out the DOI copy?

  5. Congrats on your ratings.

One thing though – some cheeky git has put up the eARC on a torrent site. At least it’s filenamed as the eARC – don’t want to download it in case someone’s playing silly buggers with a virus.

    Just thought you should know.

  6. I get weekly coupons for Borders, so I got my copy there rather than Amazon. But even in Hippie-town Eugene, Oregon, they had about 10 copies: four or five on an end display, and the others cover-facing-out on the normal shelves.

  7. Bought it, read it, loved it!

Now I have to re-read it to catch those moments I missed on the first read. Agent Franks – totally didn’t expect that! (No Spoilers!)

If, in the 17th volume of this series, OZP farts & Atlantis sinks, I’m going to be annoyed. Fair Warning! 🙂

Off to call the siblings & convert them to MHI fans (again.)

  8. I did it. Couldn’t wait and didn’t want to bugger up the signed copy so I called a B&N in San Antonio to reserve a copy. They had 9, one is now mine.

  9. “MHV” just arrived from Amazon!!! I look forward to reading my new favorite set of crazy, gun loving, napalm pissing, barbed wire chewing, monster killers! Loved the first book… please continue the series! BTW – hurry up with your new collaborative effort ‘Dead Six’… I am really interested in the story and the way you tell it from two different protagonists points of view.

    Cheers – Thanks Again!

  10. Bluesun,

Hooray, Mine came in the mail today, and like you, I will probably stay up all night to finish it (thank God today is my day off), so let me join you in excoriating Larry for causing me to lose sleep (even though I haven’t yet (if it’s anything like when I read the first book…I will).

  11. ” I’m signing the Uncle Hugo books now. That’s a LOT of books.”

It keeps signing the books or it gets the hose.

  12. bought it, read it, will read it again, and again…Great action as we have come to expect from you, but the humor….OMGWTFBBQ!!!!!!!!!!!! G-nome….I nearly wet myself……Correia! You magnificent bastard!!!!!!

  13. Sucks to be a Brit right now.
Amazon UK still saying at least a week (possibly 3) – despite my order in April!
However they have delivered my Kindle so i cancelled the dead tree and bought it from WebScription and MHV becomes my first eBook. I assume WebScriptions is all legal like (as Baen site points to them).

  14. I was at the mall, couldn’t stand it and popped into the B&N. There it was, in all of it’s paperback glory, and in a few minutes it was MINE ALL MINE muahahahahah!
Of course when I got home there was a package in the mail from Amazon. It’s all good though, cause now my daughter has her own and won’t be stealing mine.
I’m about halfway through with it, and just have to point out that the Crown Vic has this cool little button that you push to open the trunk if you don’t have the key. Just sayin’. (never watched “The Whole Ten Yards”?)
Snark break over. Back to absorbing awesome now.
BTW, did you get the order for the patches that I sent in on Aug 31?

  15. Hey Larry, just thought I would let you know I went to pick up MHV at Barnes and Noble down here in Houston last week and couldn’t find it on the shelf. I went over to a clerk preparing to be cranky and found that your books were on a ‘step-ladder’ display at the front of the store. Thought it was cool that it’s being featured like that. The book is great!
