Well now. :)

Does this mean you’re going to end up with your own chat room on their site?

F’n A bubba, that’s the best news I’ve heard today.

Baen really supports their authors; especially the newer authors; better than anyone.

That’s great! Now, head over to http://bar.baen.com

This is the online forum Baen authors and readers. A couple of sections that might interest you:
Mike’s Madhouse (The hangout of Mike Williamson and quite a bit of firearms talk there.)
Monster Tracks (Another area for firearms talk.)

The best part is, you can set it up so you can read these by e-mail.

Shocked. I’m shocked. NOT.

Somehow I knew that your stuff would be right up Baen’s alley, Larry. They have a GREAT stable of authors.

Congrats! That’s who I was guessing it would be.

Thought so. Good for you! You can take the spot Dave Weber’s relinquished.

Great news. I love supporting Baen, guess I’ll have to buy another copy.

Dave Weber left Baen? Does this mean no more Honor Harrington books, or did he go somewhere else?

Guest

No, NC, he just stopped being good.

No, he just stopped being EDITED. Near as I can figure out, the editors at Baen just don’t have the testicular fortitude to say “Dave, your character TALK TOO FREAKING MUCH!” to their star author.

Woohoo! You are in good company, Sir! Congratz!
Now, about MHI numero dos… =)

So…we have to wait until 2009 for the new copy to come out?

What does this do to the sequel, will it be published in 2010?

It’s good news, I guess, but doesn’t this mean you won’t be making any money off selling the books until next year – as opposed to selling them like crazy right now as you had been?

Just curious as to how all this works.

I have to disagree on the David Weber stuff here.

He’s still a wonderful author, and while he may be verbose, I love every damned word he puts to paper.

The bigger the book, the better. And nobody writes combat like he does.

He’s on a hiatus writing those books for Tor, but he’s already near done with the second Shadow of Saganami book, and in fact, posted a snippet from it in the Baen forums.

With regards to you being picked up by Baen…that totally, completely, and utterly made my day.

Congrats!

And while the book may not be out until 2009, I’m sure that we’ll be able to buy the electronic version much sooner than that.

Congratulations, Mr. Correia. Well merited, from the chapter I read.

Snippets! We want snippets! We *need* snippets!

It’s a Baen’s Bar thing. I’m looking forward to the book, and I think it’s cool you signed with Baen. :)
