Holy crap, you guys are buying a lot of books!

I noted earlier today that I was offered a contract from a large publisher for Monster Hunter International, and that if you wanted a Larry Correia self-published 1st edition, you needed to pick it up soon, because that version was getting discontinued.  Well, apparently some of you decided to buy a copy.

  • #5,031?  That sounds like a lot until you realize that they’ve got like a million books on there.  And #34 in Contemporary Fantasy?

Not bad for a self published hack wannabe!

And to the Fan Boy that said I was easily intimidated, apparently he’s never tried to make it as a writer.  I could wallpaper my living room with rejection letters, and I just kept beating my head against the bricks, but all that is finally paying off.  I almost said that all of the “hard work” was paying off, but who am I kidding?  I would write for free.  Writing isn’t work.  Writing is what keeps me from going on a tri-state chainsaw rampage!

Anybody know where to get HK USP parts? No, seriously...

    1. Chainsaw rampage? and you own a gun store?!? *hee hee hee* Loved the book! Congrats on even making it far enough to see the bigtime!

    2. YES!!!! He shoots, he scores!!

Congrats, Larry, you deserve it! MHI is better than a lot of stuff I’ve read that got published. Glad to see that at least ONE publisher came to his senses.

    3. Man, you aren’t kidding! Gave away three copies already, so I went to Alibris and they wanted over a hundred bucks for a used one. Hope some of that $ gets back to you. Congrats.

    4. Hi Larry!

There’s a reason: the book ROCKS! I read it in a day and a half (includes work). It was LOTS of fun and I just couldn’t put it down. It goes on the shelf next to Unintended Consequences 🙂

Somebody’s been playing too much Hunter. Please continue so we can get MHI2…sooner rather than later!!!!

I’ll keep pushing it to those who are receptive to the message.

    5. Wow. I bought one yesterday, but I didn’t even realize the first editions were going to run out, I just went “Oh yeah, I don’t have a copy yet”.

    6. The entry for MHI says “Not in stock; order now and we’ll deliver when available”.

Is it already too late or are you still printing them and Amazon has run out?

    7. I got the book 2 days ago (Thanks Larry!) & just finished it. I am going to give myself 2 days before reading it again because it was too much fun!

Now if I could lay my hands on one of the patches……

    8. Not intimidated, huh? Jesus buddy, get a grip.

I get my own hate post in which you thump your chest and miss my points entirely.

Then another post – oh look! A lemon got off the HK production line! Therefore they ALL must be junk because that never happens with AK’s or SKS’s, right fanboys?

      And now a final post.

Yes. You are not intimidated. We get it. You have nothing to prove.

Ugh. Good luck selling your comic books sport. Don’t think I’ll be buying one or stopping by your blog again either, so what the hell:

      HK RULES.

      🙂
